Let us help you reduce your pain so you can recover and keep moving!

As an athlete you want to be able to perform at your best. Don’t let pain get in the way of your training and exercise. Let Bloomington Athletic Massage help you improve the way you feel so you can be at your best, everyday.

The type of massage and bodywork you receive will ebb and flow, along with your activity level and life circumstances.

I’m a “Work smarter, not harder!” massage therapist. While sometimes the work may be light, to encourage relaxation and to calm the nervous system, other times it will be more invigorating, flushing, or deep to release adhesions and tight muscles. I have a number of tools in my toolbox to work you!

Restorative Massage

The modalities included in Restorative massage will change as your needs change from one session to the next. Communication between the client and therapist is important so you can receive a treatment that is best for you!

Positional release By moving the body into a position of comfort, the muscle can relax and stretch on its own.  This is used for acute and chronic pain, muscle spasms, and injuries.

Gua Sha Using special  gua sha tools, the skin is scraped in areas that are especially tight or have adhesions.  This improves blood and lymphatic flow to the area while also loosening adhesions.

Neuromuscular Therapy Pressure or friction is applied to hypersensitive “trigger points” to relieve pain and tension in the muscles and fascia.

Relaxation massage Need to unwind and reduce stress? Relaxation massage is just what you need.

Cupping Silicone cups are placed over adhesions and knots to lift, hydrate and stretch the tissue. Massaging with the cups allows for increased circulation of blood and lymph fluid. They release stagnant tissue and speed recovery. They also allow for deeper work after application because the superficial tissue is relaxed.

Lymph Drainage Therapy A gentle modality that increases the flow of the lymphatic system.  This is recommended for allergies, sinus congestion, headaches, or post injury or surgery. Note, this is not offered as a standalone therapy but to be included with other massage techniques.

Bloomington Athletic Massage accepts cash, check, and credit cards. Gratuity is not accepted.

A small portion of monthly revenue is donated to local non profit organizations because, hey, we’re all in this together. Right?
